Interview with Coach Casteel
What are the most important things to teach this season?
Hustle on every single play, take chances and rely on teammates to have your help.
What we really want players to get out of this season?
We really want players to come away with the knowledge of what it takes to be the best player on their school team. The team leader, and how to lead by example.
What does the team need to be really good at to be successful?
The team will need to be really good at hustling, and getting their hands of every ball. They will need to be good at relying on each other in order to develop a sense of team work and have trust in one another. Defense will play a major role in our success.
How will I define a successful season?
I will define a successful season by whether or not each player comes away from the season knowing that to be the best basketball player they can be, they will have to put in the work on the floor. They will have to hustle every play. They will play defense and give up nothing. The other teams will walk away knowing they had to work for every bucket. The players will feel good about relying on each other and know they are better when they play together.
